Do you think Intuit’s Web hosting/design service will root out a lot of other Web designers?

Question by USA NOT USSA: Do you think Intuit’s Web hosting/design service will root out a lot of other Web designers?

For /month, Intuit offers a Web hosting service, with a site builder with over 2,000 templates. Unless they start offering the same service, do you think other Web designers will be rooted out by the very low-cost service?

At the same time the online services upgrade, the design tools upgrade and the designers knowledge upgrade too! I don’t think it’s getting bad to the designer, because people like exclusivity and still there are many people who doesn’t have any knowledge about design skills.

Other thing about hosts: I know they are getting cheaper, but they’re getting less secure and worst, in everything… (own experience).

Well, if you been prejudiced, build a host company XD

Many hosts offer site builders for a price as cheap as this.

  • Inevitably there will be something the ‘canned’ websites will not do for the customer, and in the end, they will either learn to code their site for themselves or find someone who already knows how.

I can only imagine the limitations placed on a ‘site’ that sells for $5 per month.
This doesn’t worry me in the slightest.

No, many hosts offer this, some for cheaper. Templates are available everywhere. People who want to use a template will, but the designer offers optimization and a more customized less templatey look. Plus in the end with a template you are still building your own website.

    Check out http://ipage.mestore.us

    TEMPLATES
    only $3.50 per month
    unlimited space and bandwidth
cpanel with free software – 1 click installs
    24/7 reliable support

as a web designer I highly recommend it

  • Depends I am sure the templates aren’t going to be the great.

$5.00 has a monthly bandwidth limited and see whats included with the server do they include a database.

No web designers/developers will never be rooted out because templates are static not dynamic which means ya in the future they will try to compete by offering cms systems however they have their own share of bugs more sophistication causes more and not upgrading cms systems can create loopholes for hackers. Also customization isn’t as free without a developer.
